"etymology_text": "From ute (“outside, outdoors”) + pils (“pilsner, beer”), literally “outdoor beer”. The second element pils (“pilsner, beer”) is a shortening of pilsner (“pilsner”).\nFirst attested in 1963, in the phrase vårens første utepils (“the first outdoor beer of spring”) in Arbeiderbladet. The association with the first beer drunk outdoors in spring is therefore already present in the earliest known written attestation. The word was first included as a dictionary headword in the 1996 edition of Tanums store rettskrivningsordbok, and was added to Bokmålsordboka and Nynorskordboka in 2020.",
